The backstory: why I stopped using mouth-powered suction
With my first kid, I bought the mouth-operated nose suction tool—the one with the tube. It worked, but I disliked using it while my kid was sick. I sometimes felt sick afterward too; that was my experience, not proof that the aspirator caused it.
