🧡 The Buy Better Checklist: 8 Questions Before Buying Family Gear

Before another box lands on the doorstep, run the purchase through these eight checks. Keeping what you already own counts as a win.
This is a practical family buying checklist, not a shopping list. Save it for the next sale, registry decision or desk upgrade.
☐ Name the problem.
What will this fix in our actual week? If the answer is just “it is on sale,” pause.
☐ Check what we already have.
Can an existing product, a repair or a borrowed item do the job?
☐ Pick the exact model.
Confirm the generation, size, bundle contents and compatibility. Similar names can hide different features.
☐ Count the whole bill.
Add refills, filters, subscriptions and required accessories to the upfront price.
☐ Picture the maintenance.
Who will clean, charge, store and maintain it? A useful product has to fit the routine.
☐ Read the downside.
Find the drawback you would notice every week. Would you still buy it?
☐ Buy for today.
Choose the capacity, reading level or features you need now. Bigger and newer are not automatic upgrades.
☐ Give it an exit plan.
Check the seller, return window and warranty. Know where it will live before buying.
